MERGE is seeking a Jr. to mid-level Front-end/PHP Developer to join our development team. This developer will directly work on developing new and existing internal and public facing web site and applications.

Daily activities could include maintaining enhancing a suite of ADA-compliant, multi-lingual WordPress sites for a global organization, developing marketing landing pages, in addition to building HTML emails, banner development and light web production work.

Must-Haves:


  • Proficiency with valid, standards-based and semantic markup

  • Experience with grid-based frameworks (like Bootstrap)

  • Experience in responsive layout, mobile device optimization and cross-browser testing

  • Experience with version control (GIT)

  • Experience with WCAG 2.0 standards and best practices for accessible development and it’s impact on web development processes

  • Experience working with multi-lingual sites (WPML - WordPress Multi-Lingual plugin a plus)

  • Ability to work with JS Libraries (Ability to write your own JavaScript a plus)

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies

We are seeking a motivated finance professional to take responsibility for a wide variety of core FP&A functions, both analytical and strategic in nature.  This reimagined role will be a strategic partner for agency leaders as they evaluate resource needs, plan the monthly business activity and drive process improvements in the business.  This position will be at the center of preparing many of our critical financial analyses and executive level presentations while also presenting the opportunity to provide insight and create business partnerships with MERGE functional leaders to improve efficiency and drive growth.

Core functional responsibilities include:


  • Executive Decision Support: Support the executive decision-making process by leading in-depth financial/strategic analyses, interpreting results, and articulating actionable recommendations that support growth, increase profitability and maximize shareholder value.

  • Thought leadership: Understand and recommend the integration of industry KPI’s/metrics and analysis to help improve and evolve the understanding of the key drivers of the business in order to drive stronger performance and deeper knowledge among key leaders.

  • Business Partner: Understand what’s driving growth and profitability at a client, project level and business unit level. Communicate and provide action-oriented insight and KPI’s to assist the client account management teams to increase efficiency, inform resource capacity and pricing for profitable growth. Partner with department leadership to ensure business decisions are made with all relevant information.

  • Drive accuracy and timeliness of forecasting, consolidation, and reporting of financial results: You know the drill and you are an expert at it! Analyze and report financial results at month-end, including revenue and cost variance analysis. Consolidate forecasts across all divisions. Identify key variances to prior year, prior forecast, and budget. Reconcile actual results to forecast expectations.

  • Mergers and Acquisition Support: MERGE is in growth mode and acquisitions could be a key  part of this role.  Activities may involve industry analysis and assessment of potential acquisition targets, due diligence in assessing identified targets, and working closely with internal leadership, ownership and external advisors in completing acquisitions.  Specific responsibilities may include setup and management of data rooms, coordinating and fulfilling information requests, preparation of requested reports/information, and preparing transition and integration plans,

  • Budget, Forecast and Reporting: Key role in the annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and ad-hoc requests across all divisions, including understanding of key revenue and expense drivers to drive growth and profitability. A key role in preparation of monthly Board and Bank reporting.

  • Systems assessment and ownership: Serve in a leading role in consolidating key financials and conducting financial analysis in our financial consolidation platform/business intelligence platform. Key role in all aspects of system administration for the company wide ERP system and intimate involvement in ongoing systems assessment.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) skills and a Team player, pitching in to accelerate a more timely, accurate close.

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task a large volume of projects and tasks with high attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

  • Driven, committed and possess the ability to complete tasks on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Skilled at finding more efficient ways to work, including helping others work better.

  • Experience with financial reporting/budgeting tools a plus (e.g. Adaptive Planning, Staff Planning).

  • Advanced Excel skills required (e.g. pivot tables, advanced functions, macros).

  • Understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition.

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience.

  • Experience in professional service firm environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • Flexibility to meet continuously changing priorities and challenges.

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

The Resource Manager is a newly created discipline within the agency that incorporates production knowledge, project management, creative resource management and account management. Working with talented creatives, video producers, designers, and client experience leads, this individual will serve as the main resource for our internal teams to complete projects on time and on budget. This position will be responsible for creating and managing a smooth and fiscally responsible workflow for all incoming and outgoing projects among several business groups, and across many client groups. The ideal candidate is a task master, a problem solver, and a quick thinker with a level head and excellent people skills.  This position will be accountable and responsible for the quality, timing and budget management of all approved projects to ensure that MERGE delivers effectively and flawlessly on client expectations.

Core functional responsibilities include:

 The Resource Manager is responsible for providing direction and analysis that department leadership needs to ensure staffing is aligned with revenue projections. He/she also provides the general operational support necessary for employees to complete internal and client deliverables. Strong interpersonal skills and an eye for detail are essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with the Merge Account, Technology and Creative teams.

 

Resource Management:


  • Work with office/team leadership, client finance and operations directors to ensure office and/or team staffing are aligned with revenue forecasts.

  • Partner with account/creative/technology teams to facilitate the development of staff plans that are aligned to the approved revenue forecasts.

  • Meet regularly with department leadership to provide the necessary reports and analysis to identify resourcing needs and provide solutions for any identified gaps.

  • Provide recurring and ad hoc reports and analysis to account teams to ensure project success (e.g. burn reports, resource to revenue).

  • Setup and maintenance of jobs in the MERGE enterprise (ADVANTAGE) system and champion internal systems for higher productivity working.

  • Monitor day-to-day project activities and resourcing, identifying potential instances of underutilization and actively work with department leads to address and solve those issues.

  • Maintain constant knowledge of current and upcoming projects and business development activities as they relate to resourcing.

  • Be a resource to the Leadership team regarding questions like expenses, timesheets, OOTO policies, etc.


Staffing:

  • Recognizes internal staffing needs and recommends staffing accordingly.

  • Proactively builds on a pre-existing network of contacts.

  • Serve as conduit to Finance, Human Resources/TA and Information Technology regarding Creative/Tech/Account staffing needs.

  • Communicate with prospective freelancers based on portfolio submissions.


Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree and at least 8 years of work experience preferably in an interactive agency setting.

  • Advanced knowledge of internal systems and BI software. i.e Advantage.

  • Ability to break down complex sets of data and provide advanced level analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of production including, digital, print, broadcast & video.

  • Ability to work with tight and aggressive deadlines while being extremely detail oriented and organized for accurate and timely delivery of projects.

  • Exceptional project management experience including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Prides oneself on the ability to solve problems creatively.
